I'm really proud of myself. After all the coupons, I only spent 2000 yen on groceries for the next two weeks. I didn't get any sushi this trip, but I did get some rice on sale which was nice. I also splurged a bit and bought a mango. My sisters sent me a recipe for mango sticky rice and thought it would be something I would enjoy. I saw them this weekend too. We went to a nearby park and viewed the sakura. Mariko and Chika wore matching yukata which looked really nice next to the trees. My mom did their hair. I wish I had gotten a picture. I suppose I can ask them if they took any. I felt a little under-dressed compared to them, since I didn't wear anything traditional. I wasn't the only one who didn't, so I suppose that's okay. My sisters like to dress up for festivals since it's really the only time when they are allowed to wear the more expensive kimono and yukata with the nice hair accessories. I made us some bentos to eat at the park, but my sisters had saved up and got us dango for dessert which was a very nice treat. I am thinking about learning how to make it so I can give it to them as a treat sometimes when I come visit.

How is the mango sticky rice?

I asked them to warn me in advance so I could come home and pick up my yukata. I'd like to keep it here, but since I wear it so rarely, it would just take up space and my mom doesn't mind storing some of that stuff. I'm very thankful for that. I will tell them hello. They would probably like to see you soon since it's been too long for them and make you listen to the music they've been liking recently. The mango sticky rice was nice. It's a sometimes treat - like pocky - so I doubt I'll have it any time soon unless mango is on sale as much as it was this last trip. That said, I think canned peaches might also work as a substitute. There is a coupon for 30 yen (limit 5).

Oh yeah, let me know the next time you see them and I'll tag along, and maybe bring my sister, too. Nee-chan always goes on and on about how cute they are (I mean, it's true!)

I will do that. I'll also check to make sure it's okay to bring your sister. I know they won't mind. They look up to her a lot and I know my mom thinks she's a good influence on them. It shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe I'll just ask my mom so we can surprise them? I think they'd like that. As for pears, they are okay sometimes. They can get to slimy depending on how they are prepared. I like them just a bit softer, but still with some crunch.

Sure, just let me know what your mom says. If they have too much school work for a surprise, it can wait.

It can likely wait until Golden Week. I'm going home again this weekend, so I'll ask my mom in secret if it's okay. I doubt she'll say no. This last time I went, she made me onigiri. When I brought them home, I was surprised that each one -- there were five -- had a different filling. I think she's being more adventurous in her cooking, but it gave me some good ideas for lunches. I'm not sure apples would be good in onigiri, but they would be good for pie or a apple crumble. We could get some and bake something for An-chan or your sister.

Do you want stuff for onigiri instead? I could get you some plums.

You don't need to get me anything, Kamio. I have enough groceries. Probably too many if I'm realistic. Do you think Shishido-kun would like some of the food? I know he's busy, so it might be a good idea to make him some onigiri for lunch on occasion.

I'm quite sure, but I appreciate the offer. That sounds like it would be a good idea. I have quite a lot of rice, so making onigiri for everyone in Basil is nice and helpful. It would save them from having to think about at least one meal.

We can play music in the kitchen for our onigiri party. And you can time me, I have extra fast rice hands.

They said to check their Insta or Snap. I'm not sure what either of those mean, but I have no doubt that you'll know. When I go home next, I'll ask my mom where my summer yukata is so I can make sure that it's ready for that festival. Maybe we can take some things we made and have a picnic with Tachibana-san, Kamio, my sisters, and Kamio's sister. I think I managed to make the sticky rice, but I'm struggling with how to make dango. I've watched some videos, but maybe you would understand it better since you're good at baking.

Hmm..there isn't much baking in dango but we can certainly try. I made some once with Mama, I'll ask her about it.

Oh, I see. I don't have either one. I don't think I do. A journal is enough for me. I'm not sure what I would do with other social media accounts. It seems like too much information and would be distracting. I figured because you're good at baking that would translate to other methods of cooking/creating food. In any case, we'll learn together which will give us new skills.
